In collaboration with 84 Hospitality and the Oklahoma City Arts Council, I recorded a live-performance of Susan Herndon & The Bella Counsel inside Empire Slice House in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District for Art Moves. Art Moves is an Arts Council OKC initiative that provides free arts events in downtown OKC each workday from Noon-1:00, however, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the format has changed to streaming to promote social distancing and to let people stay inside.

Parking Tip: The best place to park your car is a little south, in front of The Foundry on Jones Avenue, where there are stips of free parking. Don’t park in front of the building on Tonhawa as that’s reserved for a law firm housed there.

With all of the various St. Patrick’s Day events canceled, on a spur-of-the-moment, I put together this live show in my living room featuring music from John McGaha and the Stir-Crazy Sisters. In this first installment showcasing Oklahoma Pies, I visited five places in the Oklahoma City area. This episode hears from owners of chefs from Caeli’s Sweets, Eats & Bar, Heifers & Hens, Ingrid’s Kitchen, Pie Junkie, and Whole Latte Pie about the pies they offer.
For this episode, I let the owners/bakers talk about themselves and their pies. I filmed at least two takes and took the best parts for their segment. With this being a montage video, I spent about an hour at each place and most of Monday editing it all together. I love how well it turned out and how each segment stood out on their own.
