EXT. THE FOUNDRY – DAY
A montage of shots showcasing The Crucible Foundry.
Avery leads Jordan down the street to The Crucible Foundry.
JORDAN
This is unexpected.
AVERY
This is The Crucible Foundry. They’re responsible for some of Oklahoma’s most important art pieces, including the Guardian that sits on our state capital.
Jordan and Avery pause in front of one of the statues.
AVERY
From a Cherokee perspective, art is vitally important for both spiritual and mental health. In addition, art is historical documentation of things of importance. Art, or more importantly the appreciation of art, gives physical insight to technology of the period and location of where it was created. My friend told me that ages ago in their culture, people saw the ability to create art as a rare gift and so they supported their artists. I hope to see more people with that belief. Anyway, this location will be perfect for what I got to show you.
JORDAN
What do you want to show me?
AVERY
Pick a sculpture. Any sculpture and I can make a real-life copy with this magical paintbrush.
JORDAN
Hold up. Were those birds in the alleyway your doing?
AVERY
Guilty.
JORDAN
Make the pig come to life!
Across the street is RAVEN and LOKI. Raven holds a table.
RAVEN
(using tablet)
Commencing chaos.
We focus back on Jordan and Avery. The paintbrush starts to wiggle around.
JORDAN
Is your paintbrush supposed to do that?
AVERY
It’s never done that before.
A beam fires off the paintbrush, causing a monster to roar to life.
The monster roars as we see the terrified faces of the couple. It’s the same monster we saw at the art gallery.
JORDAN
That’s not good.
The monster chargers after Avery. Avery realizes this and tosses Jordan the paintbrush before the monster can get it.
AVERY
Catch!
Jordan catches the brush (or doesn’t catch it exactly, but he still gets hold of it).
JORDAN
What do I do with this?
AVERY
I don’t know.
The monster chargers after Jordan. Jordan snaps the paintbrush in half, causing the monster to die.
JORDAN
I can’t believe that worked.
AVERY
I guess I learned my lesson. Don’t take mystical gifts from strangers.
JORDAN
Yeah, that’ll teach you.
A moment of awkward silence.
JORDAN
Overall, this wasn’t my worst date.
AVERY
Really?
JORDAN
I mean, the night is young. Didn’t you say you have some more art to show me?
AVERY
Oh, yeah! Come on. There are some really cool murals at Equity Brewing. They also have some beer, too.
JORDAN
I could go for a drink.
Avery and Jordan walk toward Equity. Loki and Raven watch the couple walk toward The Depot.
RAVEN
Interesting. Jordan destroyed the brush before it could cause too much chaos.
LOKI
Instead of the brush destroying Jordan.
RAVEN
Shall we try for a different ending, Loki?
THE END
